This Smith-Corona Skyriter dates to 1955, and was the laptop of its day. It's extremely lightweight and very slim, but yet it types pretty well despite its size. It doesn't use univeral ribbons because the spools are so tiny, but you can still aqquire new ribbons for it on eBay, or rethreading is always an option. The leather case is in fine condition - there is some ink staining on the inside - , and even the zipper is completely in tact and working. This machine could be used frequently without any trouble, but it is better for less frequent use and would be a wonderful first typewriter for anyone!
