1957 Tower Chieftain III
This Tower Chieftain III dating from 1957 is nearly identical to a Smith-Corona Skyriter.(3Y Series) Why? Because that's basically what it is. The Tower was Sear's version of the Smith-Corona Skyriter. It's pretty much a knockoff brand, however the quality is exactly the same because this machine was manufactured by Smith-Corona. In fact, I like the paint job and Tower nameplate on this machine better than the Skyriters sold by Smith-Corona! Nonetheless, this typewriter is extremely portable, but still types like a champ. It also comes with the original instructions manual, and of course the case, which happens to be in exceptional condition with the zipper still completely in tact and working.
