Up for sale is an absolutely stunning and beautiful Olivetti Valentine from 1969-1970. As said on the Virtual Typewriter Museum website, "If there is one post-1920s typewriter that deserves a place in this museum, it is the Olivetti Valentine, a design by Ettore Sottsass."
Much more can be found on the popularity of the Valentine, but overall, the Valentine is a classic. The case was designed so that the typewriter fits inside, but once it is outside of the case, the case can be used as a seat, so the writer could visit anywhere, sit down, put the typewriter on his/her lap, put in a piece of paper, and type away.
The Valentine is a very special machine in the typewriter world, but the mechanism and typing action isn't actually anything noteworthy despite how popular this typewriter is.
Nonetheless, this typewriter is in near mint condition, and is fully working. There is some minor wear on the paint on the flat surface above the "Valentine" lettering, but it's only visible when it's viewed from a weird angle. (see pictures) This typewriter can definitely be used heavily and/or frequently without any issues. If you are familiar with using any other OIivetti model, then you will find that using this one is extremely similar.
