Here's a true workhorse, a 1960s Remington Quiet-Riter Eleven. This machine is quite large for a portable, but this one types like a dream. I can get my highest WPM (words per minute) on this model. The escapement has no problem keeping up with a fast typist, and the keys tend to return quickly so a jam isn't caused. This typewriter is in very great cosmetic condition as well. If you're looking for a typewriter to use quite a lot (this one would be an awesome choice to write a novel with) then this would be the typewriter you're looking for. This machine also comes with the key if you want to lock or unlock the carrying case.
