Up for sale is a nice Remington Rand Deluxe Model 5 which was made in either 1948 or 1949. This machine is in great shape cosmetically and is also fully functional right down to the bell. This typewriter is a really good typer considering how old it is, and it could definitely be used rather frequently. The case is labeled "US Army" however I can pretty much guarantee that the previous owner painted it on himself, since this is a post-war typewriter and he was also selling a 1950s Smith-Corona Sterling with the same exact markings on the case (another post-war machine) You could always use black spray paint or something else to cover this paint, however that is up to you. Unfortunately this typewriter does not use universal ribbons, otherwise this machine is rather easy to use and maintain.
