1964 Smith-Corona Sterling (5AX Series)
Up for sale is an absolutely beautiful Smith-Corona Sterling which was made in 1964. This typewriter is probably one of my favorite post war machines that Smith-Corona ever made. The body style is still streamlined and aerodynamic looking, unlike a lot of Smith-Corona's later machines which looked rather unattractive in my opinion. The mechanism is exactly the same as the Classic 12, Galaxie or Galaxie 12, etc., which are all great machines, however they don't look as good as this model. The mechanism is very reliable, and so this machine would be perfect for heavy use. It also uses universal ribbons, which is another bonus because this machine is already easy to use and maintain. This Sterling also comes with the warranty card and the key for the case if you decide to lock it. The original blue paint is also in great shape along with the chrome. If you're looking for a great looking typewriter that can be used as a workhorse, then this is an awesome choice.
