This is one ugly Skywriter. While it works wonderfully, and typing on it is a pleasure despite years of improper storage in an old musty attic, the paint is a mess. Mechanically, everything is more than sound. All the mechanisms work smoothly and easily, and it needs only a light touch to enact any of its functions. I'll admit that Smith-Coronas are not my go-to, but this Skywriter may have changed my mind.
Cosmetically, this typewriter is an ugly duckling. The ingrained paint is uneven, chipping in some places, faded in others, even changing tones as a result on improper climate control. But that can all change! I am offering custom paint to order on this Skywriter, meaning that once you purchase it, I will email you to discuss your color choices. After determining the color(s) you want (we can do up as many as you want), I will paint it before shipping it to you. In short, you can get a metallic gold, hot pink, lime green, turquoise, rainbow, or any-other-color-you-can-imagine typewriter that looks even better than it works! What could be better than a custom typewriter painted any way you want that functions perfectly?
