Up for sale is a nice Smith-Corona Sterling which was manufactured in 1949. This typewriter is in great working condition, although it appears to have been repainted. Even the case, which would have originally been tweed, was painted black. If you don't mind not having the original paint, then this would be a great deal since this would be a more expensive typewriter with the original paint. Mechanically, this typewriter is pretty much perfect. It works flawlessly, and is very easy to use and maintain. Universal ribbons fit this machine, and the user manual can be viewed online (PDF).
This would be an excellent budget machine that can definitely be used heavily.
