Up for sale is a Royal Mercury which was manufactured in Japan sometime in the 1970s. This typewriter is in good condition overall, and is fully functional. It has some cosmetic wear (see all pictures) and some of the keys are stained, despite being thoroughly cleaned. The Mercury is a great low-budget machine all around, and it's easy to use and take care of. The user manual for this machine can be downloaded here: http://machinesoflovinggrace.com/manuals/RoyalSilver-Seikomanual.pdf
This typewriter also uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site.
The Mercury wouldn't be my first choice for heavier writing such as novel-writing or anything involving using this machine for a long period at a time. The typewriter itself is very reliable and dependable, however the touch isn't the smoothest compared to other more high end machines. If you want to write a page or two at a time, this typewriter is a great option and will tackle the job. Additionally, its light weight and slim size make it a great traveler.
