Up for sale is a beautiful Olympia SM9 which was made in Western Germany in 1966. This typewriter is in near mint shape overall, and is fully functional right down to the bell. As with other Olympias, this SM9 is an excellent machine to tackle heavier duty writing such as novels. The mechanism is extremely smooth and reliable, and its a joy to use. This Olympia uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site. Back on the topic of condition, this typewriter is impressive. The chrome on the ends of the carriage shines beautifully and like new. The paint is pretty much flawless. The case is in good shape overall, but does show some evidence of light wear, but I have seen much worse. Regardless, you can see it for yourself in the pictures.
If you're looking for a workhorse for heavy and frequent use, then the SM9 is one of my most common recommendations.
