This is a beautiful Coronet made by Smith-Corona in the 1970s. This typewriter is in pristine condition -- it has very, very few signs of wear, and everything works exactly as it should. The beautiful, robins-egg blue paint is almost completely unmarred, and the machine functions as it would have 40 years ago when it was first made. Please keep in mind that this is an electric typewriter, and while it is portable, it needs to be plugged in in order to work; however, despite this slight inconvenience, it is far easier to use than regular portable typewriter. Typing requires very little pressure, and this machine is equipped with a "return" button so you do not have to manually return the carriage.
The case is a bit battered, large, and cheap-looking, but it does what it needs to do -- protect the typewriter and make it easier to carry. This machine also comes with its original instruction manual and typer's hand book!
My first typewriter was actually this exact model; I still have it on my desk. Out of all my other machines, it is still the one I use most.
Overall, this typewriter is a beautiful machine in excellent condition. It's a pleasure to type on -- it would make for a great first typewriter, and is ideal for frequent and heavy use.
