Up for sale is an uncommon Remington Mark II which was made in Holland. Specifically, the typewriter was made in Holland, the case was made in Western Germany, and the instructions manual was also printed in Western Germany. According to a date stamp on the underneath the ribbon cover, this machine was made in September of 1966. This typewriter's mechanism is essentially a Torpedo 18, however Remington completely redesigned the body, making it appear more modern and space-age-looking. This typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell, and is in near mint shape cosmetically. The typing mechanism is extremely smooth and feels like a high-end machine. The typing action is surprisingly very light, and is very responsive. I would definitely recommend this typewriter for heavy use, and this machine would make an excellent workhorse. This typewriter also comes with the original user manual and a cleaning brush. Because this typewriter does not use interchangeable spools, the ribbon (a universal ribbon will work) must be thread directly into the built-in spools of the typewriter. The instructions manual covers this procedure rather clearly, although it is a bit more complicated than removing and installing a new ribbon on a typewriter with interchangeable spools.
All-in-all, if you're looking for a rather unusual and impressive typewriter to do some heavy writing with, then this Mark II is an excellent choice.
