Up for sale is a nice Smith-Corona Silent (5S-Series) which was manufactured in 1950. This typewriter is in excellent shape overall, and only has a few scratches/paint flaws. Mechanically, this typewriter is perfect, and is fully functional right down to the bell. Included is the original instructions manual, and a touch typewriting chart with typing exercises on the back. This typewriter may not live up to its "Silent" name, however this was still a very popular model for Smith-Corona in the 1950s, and for good reason. This typewriter is an excellent typewriter, and is great to write with. With the help of the user manual and the fact that this machine uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site, this typewriter is a very easy machine to use and maintain. If you're looking for a classic '50s typewriter to use heavily, then this is an excellent option.
