Up for sale is an amazing Olympia SM3 which was made in Western German in 1957. This typewriter is in impressive shape, although it isn't perfect. Cosmetically, the paint has a few white-out stains which I could not remove, however the paint is in great shape and the chrome shines almost like new. Mechanically, the typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell, and is ready to be used heavily. Just as with other Olympia machines, this SM3 is a great display of superior German engineering and workmanship. This typewriter is an amazing typer, and is very smooth and reliable. The case shows more evidence of wear than the typewriter, but it still does its job very well. The typeface is the standard 10-pitch font rather than 12-pitch elite, which is a bonus in my opinion.
If you're looking for an all-around impressive typewriter that can be used heavily and reliably, then this is an excellent choice.
