Up for sale is a nice Smith-Corona Clipper (5C-Series) which was made in 1958. This typewriter was a very popular model in the '50s, and for good reason. This machine is an excellent typewriter all around, and is easy to use and maintain. Best of all, it's a very smooth typewriter to write with, and to top it off, it looks great. This particular typewriter is fully functional and is in great shape both cosmetically and mechanically. The crinkle paint finish is very clean, with only a few white out spots here and there (see all pictures). Rust is nowhere to be found. It's fair to say that this model is one of the easiest to use and care for. Universal ribbons which are sold on this site fit this machine perfectly, and the owner's manual for SCM portables from the '50s can be found here: http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/SC1958.pdf.
If you're looking for a classic '50s typewriter to use heavily and reliably, then this is a great choice.
