Up for sale is an uncommon Aztec 15 which was made in Germany sometime in the 1960s. This typewriter is essentially an Erika Model 14 with some minor differences. Other than the labeling, perhaps the biggest difference specifically is the ribbon color selector- which is even different from other Aztec 15's. Usually the selector is on the right-hand body of the machine next to the keyboard and consists of three options. The color selector on this machine is on the upper left side of the keyboard and is quite different. Unfortunately the selector doesn't work properly- After quite some time troubleshooting, I could only get the typewriter to type half red and half black characters, so I just installed a single-color universal ribbon to make it easier (this typewriter does use universal ribbons). The carriage return lever feels a little weak, however it works fine as long as the line-spacing lever is set correctly. Other than that, this typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell without any issues. As most German-made typewriters were, this typewriter is an excellent typer and is very smooth to use. Cosmetically, the paint and plastic body are in pretty good shape minus a small crack down the upper middle of the rear carriage cover. The leather case is this machine's downfall in my opinion. The typewriter attaches to a base, and while it can simply be lifted out (no latches) you have to use quite a bit of force to lift the typewriter out. You also have to push pretty hard to get it back in all the way. The top part of the case (AKA the cover) is a bit worn and doesn't fit perfectly, but it works and does its job. Despite how it may look, the typewriter can be carried by its handle once the latch is engaged as seen in the pictures.
To sum it up, this machine has a few quirks, but it's an excellent typer that can be used heavily and reliably.
