Up for sale is a beautiful Smith-Corona Sterling which was made in 1964. This typewriter is in near mint shape, both cosmetically and mechanically. This particular model- the 5AX Series of the Sterling- is an extremely popular model, and for good reason. Not only does this typewriter look excellent, but it's also a really solid and reliable workhorse. The mechanism is the essentially the same mechanism featured on all late Smith-Corona manual portables, however the "Super 5" body makes it much more appealing than it's closely-related relatives. This typewriter is also extremely easy to use and care for, especially considering the fact that universal ribbons (sold on this site) are perfectly compatible. This typewriter also comes with the original owner's manual. If you're looking for a good-looking, trustworthy typer to use frequently and heavily, then this is one of my best recommendations.
