Up for sale is a stunning Underwood Universal which was made in the second-to-last year of production before Underwood temporarily halted production of this model in order to produce weapons for the war effort in WWII. This typewriter is in remarkable shape, although it does show its age a little bit. The metal doesn't shine perfectly, however it's not rusted or pitted. The paint is in near mint shape, with few flaws at all. The case shows a bit more wear, however the case still does its job perfectly as it should. This typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell, and can definitely be used heavily and frequently despite its old age. This typewriter has a very light, smooth touch, which is not always character of pre-war machines. This typewriter also uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site. If you're looking for a working classic from the '40s era, then this typewriter is a perfect choice.
