Up for sale is a classic Smith-Corona Sterling (4A-Series) which was manufactured in 1947. This typewriter is in excellent shape both cosmetically and especially mechanically. The black crinkle finish on the ribbon cover has some minor stains despite being cleaned thoroughly, otherwise the paint is in near mint shape. The labels are also in great shape, with only the rear body labels showing some very minor wear from being removed/re-placed in its case. The metal and chrome is in great shape, and shines like a mirror. Mechanically, this typewriter is in perfect shape, and is fully functional right down to the bell. Despite being from 1947, this typewriter is an extremely smooth and reliable workhorse of a typewriter, and can definitely be used heavily without any trouble.
