Up for sale is a beautiful, classic Corona Standard "flat top" which was manufactured amidst the Great Depression in 1936. This typewriter is in remarkable condition both cosmetically and mechanically, and is fully functional right down to the bell. The jet-black glossy paint is the highlight of this machine, complemented by the gold labels which are all largely in tact and in good shape. The paint is essentially in mint condition, with little to no scratches or missing paint. If you're like me, you'll find yourself dusting this machine frequently, since the paint shines like a mirror. The chrome/nickel plating on this machine doesn't shine like it's in mint shape, however there's no rust and it helps this machine show some age and character. The platen is slightly worn if you look very closely- however, it still feeds paper perfectly so it's not necessary for it to be re-surfaced yet. This is one of few machines that these photos really don't do this machine justice. Mechanically, this typewriter is also a great typer. I wouldn't suggest writing anything like a novel on this typewriter, however it still can be used relatively heavily and frequently. Universal ribbons (sold on this site) fit this typewriter perfectly. The owner's manual for this machine can be downloaded for free here: http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/CoronaInstructions1937.pdf
