Up for sale is an absolutely stunning Corona Four which was manufactured in 1927 and painted in DuPont's DUCO "Mountain Ash Scarlet" paint scheme. More information on this machine's paint finish can be found on the following page: http://www.sljohnson.net/typewriter/corona/Corona-Duco.html
This is one of few typewriters that pictures simply do not do justice for. While this typewriter may not be 100% perfect cosmetically, it's as close as you're going to get without things being non-original. The spacebar has some very small hairline cracks, however the spacebar is solid and these cracks will not grow or become an issue- it's purely cosmetic. In certain spots, the paint is ever so slightly chipped (mainly the ribbon covers) however none of this is noticeable unless you look over this machine with a fine comb. As I said, this typewriter is about as nice as you'll ever find for being completely original. Even the rear of the machine doesn't have any missing labels or paint- which is pretty much unheard of with the Corona Four because of the way it latches into the case. This machine also has the original spools that came with this machine (which is remarkable and makes this almost a one-of-a-kind) Thus, you will most certainly want to re-thread the ribbon with the original, rare spools when the time comes for a new ribbon- and for that, you can use the universal ribbons sold on this site. This typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell, however this is not a machine that you'd want to write heavily with. It is definitely equipped to write something like letters or notes, however I would not chose this machine to write a novel on. When it's not being used, it makes for a heck of a conversation and decoration piece. This typewriter also comes with two cleaning brushes which are kept in the lid of the case.

If you're looking for an absolutely stunning classic that's still functional and in near mint shape, then this is a beautiful choice.
