Up for sale is a sharp-looking Olympia SM5 which was manufactured in 1963. This typewriter was customized, but it looks excellent. The red typebasket cover and hot-rod flames make this typewriter resemble a hot rod of the '50s or '60s. The red typebasket would normally be the same cream color as the rest of the body. Condition-wise, this machine is near mint both cosmetically and mechanically. This typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell. Olympia's are known for being high quality, classy machines that still remain workhorses to this day, and this SM5 is no exception. If you're looking for a reliable workhorse to use heavily, then this is definitely at the top of my recommendation list. The SM5 has all the features you could ever need, is a smooth typer, and has a light yet crisp touch. This typewriter is also very easy to use and care for, and uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site.
