1957 Royal Quiet Deluxe
Up for sale is a beautiful Royal Quiet Deluxe which was manufactured in 1957- towards the tail end of the Quiet-Deluxe's production run. This typewriter itself is in near mint shape. The case has some minor wear inside and out, however everything is completely in-tact and well, and it does its job unquestionably as it should. This typewriter's crinkle paint is just about flawless, and doesn't even have any stains. Everything is completely functional on this machine right down to the bell. This typewriter has a unique-looking proprietary font that can be seen in the type sample (second picture). If you're looking for a smooth, easy to use typewriter that can also be used heavily and reliably, then this is a popular machine to go with. This typewriter uses universal ribbons that are sold on this site. The owner's manual can be found here: http://www.machinesoflovinggrace.com/manuals/RoyalPortables1953Manual.pdf however keep in mind that the ribbon reverse switch, and the ribbon color selector can only be found by pressing the red "Royal" badge which pops up the typebasket cover with this specific variant of Quiet-Deluxe (which varies slightly from the one found in the manual). All-in-all, if you're looking for a standard portable from the late '50s in near mint condition that can definitely be used heavily and frequently, then this is a great choice.
