Up for sale is a beautiful Smith-Corona Silent-Super which was manufactured in late 1955. This typewriter is in excellent shape all around, and is fully functional right down to the bell. This machine types in the "elite" typeface, which fits 12 characters per inch, while the standard pica typeface is slightly larger and fits 10 characters per inch. This typewriter is one of the best typewriters out there from the 1950's that can still be used as a workhorse. This Silent-Super (keep in mind that the name is not true- this typewriter is just as loud as others) is a very smooth and reliable machine that can definitely be used heavily and frequently. It's also a very easy machine to learn to use and care for, and uses universal ribbons that are sold on this site.
