Up for sale is an impressive Royal Arrow which was made in 1939- the first year of the production run for the Arrow model. This early Arrow is just about in mint shape all around, and still works perfectly right down to the bell. The ribbon that's currently installed in the typewriter has been used, however it still has a fair amount of ink left and could be used for quite some time, so I will include a new universal ribbon with the purchase of this typewriter and the buyer can install it at his or her discretion. Condition-wise, this is about as nice as you'll ever find an Arrow. The black crinkle paint is just about flawless, which is really hard to find. Even the case has very little wear, and is in great shape. Despite this machine's old age, this typewriter can still be used quite a bit. I wouldn't recommend writing a really long novel on this machine, however it can easily be used to tackle other writing tasks and can be used frequently and reliably. This typewriter is pretty intuitive and easy to use, especially with help of the owner's manual which can be referenced here: http://www.machinesoflovinggrace.com/manuals/RoyalArrowManual.pdf
This machine is a very smooth typer, and remains popular among collectors and writers alike for both its smooth touch and classy looks. The Arrow model was even chosen by the US Navy to decode morse code telegram messages during WWII- and thus civilian production of the Arrow ceased until the end of WWII.
If you're looking for a beautiful late '30s/early '40s machine in mint shape that can still be used frequently and reliably, then this is by far the machine to call your own.
