Up for sale is a nice Royal Heritage which was made in 1960. This typewriter is made with the body of a Royal Futura, and is essentially the same minus the pop-up paper supports and the touch control selector. The Heritage was only available for purchase through Montgomery Ward. This typewriter is in good shape overall, although it has a few cosmetic flaws. Some of the crinkle paint is stained in certain spots despite being thoroughly cleaned. On the paint below the carriage lock, there is marker saying "unlock." The inside of the case has a large stain inside- possibly from ink? The latch on the outside of the case has some surface rust and pitting, however the latch and rest of the case still does its job like it should. Mechanically, this typewriter is perfect, and is an excellent typer. The mechanism is essentially the same as any Royal from the 1950s-1970s, which is a common, popular mechanism known for being smooth and reliable- which it is indeed. I would recommend using this machine for heavy use, and it could definitely be used to write a novel or something of similar nature which requires frequent typing for long periods of time. This typewriter does use the universal ribbons sold on this site, and it's extremely easy to use and care for. There is no manual available for the Heritage, however the Futura's manual (essentially the same machine as discussed earlier) can be downloaded for free here: http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/RoyalFutura.pdf
