Up for sale is a nice Royal Quiet Deluxe which was manufactured in 1953. This typewriter is in excellent shape overall, and is fully functional right down to the bell. While there are a few scratches and cosmetic flaws, including remains from a sticker on the rear of the typewriter, the crinkle paint is in nice condition for the most part. Mechanically, this typewriter is perfect. The QDL is a very common model because of its popularity and value back in the '50s, and it remains a great typer for the price. The mechanism is very smooth and responsive, and the heaviness of the touch can be adjusted with the touch control feature. Keep in mind that this typewriter has an elite typeface rather than the pica typeface, and types 12 characters per inch instead of the standard 10.

Universal ribbons, which are sold on this site, fit this machine perfectly, making this one even easier to care for.
The carrying case is also in good shape, although it has a few stains and one of the rubber feet on the bottom is missing.
All in all, if you're looking for a trusty, easy to use typewriter that can be used heavily and frequently, then this is a great choice.
