1962 Olympia SM7
Up for sale is an absolutely beautiful Olympia SM7 in a light robin-egg blue color. This machine was made in Western Germany in 1962, and was well-cared for. This machine only has one light ding on the left-edge corner of the blue typebasket/body cover. Otherwise, this typewriter is in near mint shape all around with very few other cosmetic flaws. Even the carrying case is in stellar shape, and comes with the key. The case is also particularly clean, as it has been scrubbed with a bleach solution as well as dishwashing liquid.
Mechanically, this typewriter is perfect. This machine upholds Olympia's excellent reputation for making typewriters of the highest quality. This typewriter is an extremely reliable and smooth typewriter to type on, and would make for an excellent novel-writer or all around heavy typer. Everything on this machine is functional, right down to the bell. Keep in mind that this machine types in elite font (12 characters per inch rather than the standard 10) so the print is slightly smaller than normal.
Universal ribbons fit this machine, and are sold on this site. Also included is the original owner's manual, cleaning kit- which includes a cloth and two cleaning brushes, and the key for the case).
If you're looking for a beautiful, clean workhorse that's ready to be used heavily and frequently, then this is my best recommendation.
