1949 Royal Quiet De Luxe
Up for sale is a sharp Royal Quiet De Luxe which was manufactured in 1949. This typewriter is a rather common machine, however for good reason- it's a classy looking machine that also types very smoothly. This particular machine is in excellent condition all around, and is fully functional right down to the bell. Also included is a Royal QDL instructions manual for a later series of this model, however the functions and features are essentially identical. alternatively, this specific model's manual can be downloaded for free here: http://www.machinesoflovinggrace.com/manuals/Manual-RoyalQDL48.pdf
This typewriter uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site. Currently this typewriter only has a single color (black) ribbon installed, however it does have a ribbon color selector allowing it to use two-color ribbons like the ones sold on this site. Keep in mind that this machine types in elite font, which is slightly smaller than the standard pica font (12 characters per inch instead of 10)
This Quiet De Luxe was one of the last machines to be sold with glass keys, putting an end to the pre-war look which this machine still carries despite being from 1949.
If you're looking for a classy typewriter in impressive condition that can still be used heavily, then this is an excellent machine to call your own.
