1958 Royal Quiet De Luxe
Up for sale is a pretty Royal Quiet De Luxe which was manufactured in 1958. This typewriter is in excellent shape both cosmetically and mechanically, with very few flaws. This particular variant of Quiet De Luxe is a rather standard machine, with all the features necessary without many frills. The ribbon color selector and touch control selector are located "under the hood" of the typewriter, but are still easily accessible. This machine also uses the magic margin system, however the margins can also be manually adjusted by rotating the paper table. The owner's manual for a similar variant of the Quiet De Luxe can be downloaded here: http://www.machinesoflovinggrace.com/manuals/RoyalPortables1953Manual.pdf
This typewriter types in the normal pica font (10 characters per inch) and uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site. Because this typewriter is so easy to use and maintain, it would make an excellent first machine, as well as a workhorse machine that can be used heavily and frequently.
Although this typewriter may not be anything too special or unique, this classic '50s machine is ready to write for years to come and is an excellent machine for heavy use.
