1960s Underwood 21
Up for sale is a nice Underwood 21 which was manufactured in Barcelona, Spain sometime in the 1960s. This machine has a somewhat unusual design, and is rather long (from front to back) meaning this typewriter is a bit harder to travel with, if that was desired. The case has some wear inside and out, but it still does its job perfectly. This model was manufactured after Underwood and Olivetti merged, hence why it was produced in Barcelona, Spain and why the mechanism largely resembles something you’d see in an Olivetti portable.
The typewriter itself is in excellent shape both cosmetically and mechanically, and is fully functional right down to the bell. Unfortunately the universal ribbons that I sell do not this machine, however any Olivetti ribbons will fit this machine, otherwise the original spools can be re-thread. The owner’s manual can be downloaded for free here: http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/Underwood21manual.pdf
If you’re looking for a slightly more affordable machine to use heavily and frequently, this would be an excellent machine to purchase.
