1955 Underwood Universal Quiet Tab
Up for sale is an attractive Underwood Universal Quiet Tab which was manufactured in 1955. This typewriter represents the style of the '50s extremely well, and is quite fun to look at. This machine itself is in excellent shape all around, however it is missing the ribbon color selector (thus it only is capable of using a single color ribbon) and the right-hand shift key is not original, however it blends in well and probably wouldn't have been noticeable had I not pointed it out as not being original. The case also has a lot of wear, however it is still sturdy and does its job as it should.
The paint is in impressive condition, and looks beautiful combined with the appealing lines of the body, which Underwood put a lot of effort into designing to keep up with the other typewriter companies which were also making stylish machines.
Other than the ribbon color selector, this machine is fully functional and is a great machine to write with. It can definitely be used heavily and reliably.
