1947 Remington Noiseless Model Seven
Up for sale is a beautiful Remington Noiseless Model Seven which was manufactured in 1947. This typewriter is a beautiful machine in excellent condition all around. Cosmetically, this machine is near mint, with the black crinkle paint finish in nearly flawless condition. The labels are also crisp and clear, and are hardly worn. Mechanically, this typewriter is also perfect, and is fully functional right down to the bell. Keep in mind that this is a “noiseless machine,” and although not completely noiseless as it was originally advertised, it does sound very much different than normal typewriters. A demonstration for this model can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5j-j1j5i7w (keep in mind that it is not this particular typewriter that is being offered for sale)
The case is a bit worn, but it’s still in decent shape and does its job perfectly as it should.
This typewriter does not take interchangeable universal ribbons, however the universal ribbons which are sold on this site can be used to thread the ribbon into the “built-in” spools. The ribbon change process is demonstrated in detail here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lt3MKTCdok
Overall, if you’re in the market for a beautiful noiseless machine from the ‘40s that’s in mint condition and is ready to be used frequently, then this is a great machine.
