1960s Danish Olivetti Studio 44
Up for sale is a nice Olivetti Studio 44 which was made in Italy sometime in the early 1960s. This machine was brought back from Denmark, and has a Danish keyboard. This model was also made for American export, however this particular machine was not.
Cosmetically, this typewriter is in good shape, although there are some very light/dull patches on the paint (hard to see unless you zoom in on the pictures). The case is in great shape, and does its job perfectly.
Mechanically, this typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell, and is a good typer. This machine can be used heavily and frequently. The mainspring and drawband have been replaced, so this machine will likely not need to be repaired anytime in the foreseeable future.
Universal ribbons which are sold on this site do not fit this machine, however any Olivetti portable ribbons will fit perfectly (found for sale elsewhere on eBay and Amazon). Otherwise the original spools can be re-thread with the ribbon from the ribbons sold on this site when the time comes for a new ribbon (as I did). The owner's manual can be downloaded for free here: http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/olivettistudio44.pdf
If you're in the market for a truly European machine with a Danish keyboard, then this is the machine for you.
