1967 Russian Olympia SM9
Up for sale is an interesting Olympia SM9 with a Russian keyboard. This machine was made in Western Germany in 1967. This typewriter is in impressive shape, and is near mint both cosmetically and mechanically. Everything on this typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell. The SM9 is an excellent machine for heavy use, and is an extremely smooth and reliable typer. While the Russian keyboard is not useful or practical for the majority of people, it makes this typewriter extremely rare and collectible. If you know the language or have any use for the keyboard, this typewriter would make for an excellent workhorse that’s ready to type for many years to come.
Universal ribbons fit this typewriter perfectly and are sold on this site. The owner’s manual for this machine can be downloaded for free here: http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/OlympiaSM9.pdf
