1930 Royal Model P
Up for sale is a truly stunning Royal Model P which was manufactured in 1937. This machine has which, unfortunately, not a lot of typewriters have- character and a story. This typewriter was used frequently by a WWII veteran following the war, all the way up to when he recently sold the machine. This Royal has withstood the test of time, and is still perfectly functional. Cosmetically, it is not in mint shape, but it gives this machine a ton of character that goes along with its backstory. This typewriter was not given much more than a light cleaning and new ribbon to keep it in its original condition. The paint is worn in places, but is extremely attractive. The metal has a nice amount of patina, and the carrying case is missing the handle. Mechanically, this typewriter is as good as new despite being used for many years. Everything is working as it should, right down to the bell. The touch is extremely smooth, and it's no wonder why the original owner saw no need for a newer typewriter.
Universal ribbons fit this machine perfectly, making it pretty easy to keep thiks machine typing for even more years to come. The owner's manual can be downloaded for free here: http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/Royalportables1930.pdf
If you're looking for a machine in mint condition or near mint condition, then this is not the machine for you. If you're looking for a beautiful machine with character and a story along with a machine that can still be used frequently and heavily, then this is the typewriter for you.
