1955 Royal Senior Companion
Up for sale is a Royal Senior Companion which was made in 1955. This typewriter is not functional- something is off with the escapement mechanism and so this typewriter does not space with the spacebar or from the keys. The typewriter does respond properly from the carriage release lever, and moves freely. This typewriter is also missing one of the margins, and the margin bar is loose. This machine could realistically be repaired if desired, however I decided that it was not economical to repair it since it's not a high value model. This model does not have carriage ends, although I'm not sure if the Senior Companion originally had carriage ends as the other Royal Portables did.
There are lots of good parts on this machine- the carriage return lever, platen, feed rollers, carrying case, carriage rails, drawband/mainspring, etc.
