1967 Royal 990
Up for sale is an uncommon Royal 990 which was made in 1967. This typewriter is essentially a Royal Safari, however it has a boxier front body, and has a "Printing Point Paper Holder" which "Holds the paper firmly against the cylinder, assuring you of clean, sharp typing impressions and multiple carbon copies. Perfect for typing small envelopes, labels, etc." This 990 is in great shape, and is perfectly functional right down to the bell. This machine comes with a few extras, including an instructions pamphlet, a warranty/5 year guarantee card, and re-packing instructions.
The body has some stains which I was unable to remove despite a thorough cleaning, and there are also some areas of missing paint/scuffs (see all pictures).
This typewriter is extremely easy to use and care for, and uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site.
I would recommend this typewriter for heavy and frequent use, and it is definitely capable of writing a novel. The touch is very smooth and reliable.
