1970s Sears Achiever
Up for sale is a Sears Achiever which was made in Japan sometime in the 1970s. This typewriter is pretty standard and basic, but it gets the job done. It's not the most attractive and it isn't my favorite machine to type on, however it's in near mint shape all around and is fully functional down to the bell. Being honest, this machine is on the cheaper end- the body is plastic, and while the mechanism is very reliable, it's not the most pleasing out of all typewriters I have used. This typewriter is about as easy as it gets in terms of use and care, although I could not locate a user manual anywhere online. Universal ribbons do fit this typewriter perfectly, and are sold on this site. If you're in the market for an inexpensive portable that still can be used reliably and frequently, then this is a good budget machine.
