1956 Remington Quiet-Riter
Up for sale is a nice Remington Quiet-Riter which was made in 1956. This typewriter is in excellent shape all around, and is fully functional right down to the bell. While this machine has a rather heavy touch, the touch is smooth and reliable, and this typewriter would be an excellent machine to depend on for heavy and frequent use. Cosmetically, the crinkle paint is clean and in good shape, although there are a few stains and imperfections on the rear body. The chrome shines like new, and there's no rust anywhere on this typewriter. This machine also comes with the owner's manual for an "Office-Riter" which is identical to the Quiet-Riter minus the labeling. The carrying case has some light wear consistent with age, but is overall in good shape and does its job perfectly.
The universal ribbons that are sold on this site do not fit this machine, however the ribbon could be thread into the machine as described on the how to install a typewriter ribbon page on this site, otherwise this ribbon can be purchased:
