1961 Aztec (Rheinmetall) 600
Up for sale is an absolutely amazing Aztec 600 typewriter which was made in Germany in 1961. This Aztec is very similar to a Rheinmetall KsT typewriter, and that's because this Aztec was the export variant name of the KsT.
I've only had one KsT before, and I've never seen two Aztec 600s in person, so these typewriters are not common especially in America.
Overall, this typewriter is in amazing condition. The paint is unique and strangely attractive, and while it's not in perfect shape, is only nicked or flawed in very select spots.
Keep in mind that this typewriter unfortunately does not have a carrying case, so it is best reserved for being kept on a desk. It also makes for a great decoration on a shelf when it's not being used.
This Aztec would definitely be considered a heavy portable typewriter. It's on the larger side, and it isn't very light because the body is all metal. This typewriter also types like a dream. Smith-Corona's and other common American brand typewriters are fine to type with, but this one and similar German typewriters are on a whole different level of class when it comes to appearance and typing actions. This typewriter is fully functional and can be used heavily and frequently without any trouble.
The universal ribbons which are sold on this site fit this machine perfectly.
