1960s Cursive Sears Citation
Up for sale is a pretty Sears Citation which was manufactured by Smith-Corona sometime in the mid-1960s. The mechanisms and basic frame, excluding the body shell, are just about identical to what you would find in the Smith-Corona branded machines of the era. As such, this typewriter, despite the Sears brand, is still of high quality. This typewriter is a smooth typer, and types in cursive (script) font beautifully. The font itself takes up more room on the paper vertically than horizontally, and as such, this machine only uses a single color ribbon. This machine is in excellent shape all around, both cosmetically and mechanically. There are very few cosmetic flaws on this machine, and it's fully operational right down to the bell. The key for the case is also included. The owner's manual for a similar model can be found here for free: https://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/SearsCitation2.pdf
Unfortunately I do not sell single color universal ribbons on my site, however any universal (or common Smith-Corona) single-color ribbons will fit this machine without any issues.
If you're looking for an attractive '60s machine that writes in cursive and can still be used heavily and reliably, then this the one to buy.
