1963 Royal Safari
Up for sale is a beautiful Royal Safari which was made in America in 1963. This machine was quite ahead of its time, and is well known for its space-age looks. The blue paint on this particular machine contrasts nicely with the body surrounding the keyboard and the keyboard itself. Cosmetically, this machine is in great shape all around, with very few flaws. Mechanically, this typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell, and is a very reliable machine to write with. This typewriter writes in a slightly smaller elite typeface (12 characters per inch instead of 10). The only complaint with this machine is the plastic tab used for latching and unlatching the case is missing (see last picture for what is should be vs. the second to last picture). The metal piece can still be moved with your fingertip, however a little extra effort is required- still, the latch is functional and does its job despite the slight handicap.
The Safari is also very easy to use and care for, and uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site. The original owner's manual is included.
If you're in the market for a beautiful space-age machine in excellent shape that is ready to be used heavily, then this typewriter is an excellent buy.
