1964 Sears President 12
Up for sale is a nice Sears President 12 which was made in America in 1964. This typewriter was manufactured by Smith-Corona, but then marketed and sold by Sears. As such, this typewriter is largely identical to Smith-Corona machines of the period aside from the body styling. The mechanics are nearly identical, and the carrying case is as well, aside from the paint on the inside. This typewriter, despite any reputation that Sears may now have, is an excellent quality machine and a reliable typewriter. This typewriter is still in exceptional condition, and is fully functional right down to the bell. There are very few paint flaws, and no rust.It types just as nice as any Smith-Corona branded machine, and would be a great machine to use heavily and reliably. It also uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site, helping keep maintenance easy on a machine that is already very easy to use and care for. The owner's manual for this machine can be found here: https://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/SearsPresident12.pdf
