1976 Smith-Corona Super-G (Ghia)
Up for sale is an absolutely stunning Smith-Corona Super-G which was manufactured in England in 1976. The Super-G was designed by Karmann Ghia, so naturally it looks exactly like a sports car version of a typewriter. The lid has racing stripes, and the base of the machine has rubber tire treads instead of rubber feet. The lid also features the Ghia logo. The body and curves on this machine are like no other typewriter. This model was made in blue, brown, and orange, however the orange color is by far the most attractive in my opinion. Overall, this typewriter is in really exceptional shape both cosmetically and mechanically. The only flaw is that the right-side latch on the lid does not latch, however the left latch is successful enough in keeping the lid latched to the typewriter for carriage, although I would use caution. This typewriter is fully functional, and works perfectly. Unfortunately it can't use universal ribbons which are sold on this site, but a Smith-Corona Corsair Deluxe ribbon will work perfectly (there are plenty for sale on eBay), otherwise the original spools can be re-thread. If you're looking for a machine to write a novel on, then this wouldn't be my first choice, however it's still good for heavy and frequent use.
