1952 Remington Quiet-Riter
Up for sale is a nice Remington Quiet-Riter which was made earlier on the Quiet-Riter's production run in 1952. This body style is a little less common than the later Quiet-Riter/Travel-Riter/Letter-Riter body style that came after it. This typewriter itself is in good condition overall, however it's certainly not perfect. The paint has some stains and discoloration, as does the inside of the carrying case which is worn with age. The case also includes the original key. Mechanically, this typewriter is fully functional right down to the bell and is an excellent machine to type on. This is definitely a great budget novel writer that I can recommend for heavy use. This typewriter does use universal ribbons, however the core/center of the spools must be pushed out in order to be compatible. The owner's manual for this particular machine is non-existent online, however the later Quiet-Riter manual can be accessed here: https://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/quietriter.pdf
If you're looking for a quality workhorse that's ready to be used heavily and reliably for many years to come, then this is a great option that isn't as extremely valuable or collectible otherwise.
