1964 Hermes 3000 (Cursive)
Up for sale is one of the most sought after machines among typewriter enthusiasts and writers alike- the Swiss-made Hermes 3000. This one was manufactured in 1964, and types in script (cursive)! An effective review on this model can be read here: https://typewriterreview.com/2013/06/18/hermes-3000/
To sum everything up about the Hermes 3000- it's one of the most incredible portable typewriters ever designed in all aspects. The features, ultra smooth mechanics, and striking body design were extremely ahead of its time. As such, this machine was an extreme success. It remains one of the most popular machines among many known names, including Tom Hanks.
This particular 3000 is in near mint shape, and also includes 2 original cleaning brushes and the key for the case. The paint on this machine is nearly perfect (especially for its age), with hardly any cosmetic flaws to be seen. The rubber (platen, feed rollers, and feet) are all in great shape and have very little wear. The carrying case is also in amazing shape and is very clean.
This typewriter uses universal ribbons sold on this site, and the owner's manual can be accessed for free here: https://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/Hermes3000-Media3_Manual.pdf
If you're a writer who loves the script (cursive) typeface, then this is my highest recommendation for you as long as you can appreciate everything about the Hermes 3000, including the resulting price for all its glory.
