1960s Smith-Corona Galaxie
Up for sale is a Smith-Corona Galaxie which was made in America sometime in the 1960s. This typewriter is fully functional down to the bell, and is in great shape cosmetically as well, with just some light scratches on the typebasket cover (see photo following type sample). While this typewriter may not be the most attractive, it shines as a reliable workhorse that can be used heavily. The mechanism is very smooth and feels extremely solid, as it is. It's also very easy to use and care for, and uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site. The owner's manual is also included.
The type alignment is a bit off on this machine, giving it a unique artsy look, however it may not be appreciated by everyone. If you're in the market for a no-frills workhorse that can be used heavily and reliably, then this is pretty much the best option for you.
