1972 Olivetti Lettera 32 (For Parts/As-is)
Up for sale is an Olivetti Lettera 32 that was made in Barcelona, Spain in 1972. This typewriter is in fair shape overall, however it is in far from working condition, and would be best off as a parts or decoration machine. This typewriter is missing the typebasket/ribbon cover, and was originally purchased as a parts machine for its ball bearings in order to repair an Olivetti Valentine. This machine theoretically could be repaired, however a ball bearing installation is not an easy or cheap repair- as such this typewriter is probably not worth repairing. The carriage could be forced to fit back in its tracks, however it requires some finesse and so it is currently loose and will be shipped (unless you are local to Southeastern PA and wish to pick it up to save shipping costs) separately from the machine itself. Condition-wise, this typewriter just has a bit of surface rust on the bottom cover piece- and is otherwise rust/corrosion free. The carrying case is a little dirty and rough on the inside, and the zipper is fully in tact but doesn't seem to want to move freely although the tracks are also all in tact and appear to be functional.
