1951 Smith-Corona Sterling
Up for sale is a Smith-Corona Sterling (5A Series) which was made in America in 1951. This typewriter is in good shape overall, but does show some wear on the body and on the carrying case. There are a few minor scuffs on the ribbon/typebasket cover, as well as below the spacebar. The base of the case was damaged and repaired with strong epoxy, and is holding up very well as if nothing ever happened. Nonetheless, I have provided plenty of photos. The typewriter itself- aside from a few mentioned and pictured cosmetic flaws, is in perfect fully functional condition right down to the bell. The original rubber feet were worn, and have been freshly replaced. This typewriter is very smooth and reliable to write on, and would be great for heavy use. This machine uses universal ribbons, and the owner's manual can be accessed for free here:
